Do you want to be at the forefront of pioneering Children's Services?

Would you like to work for an Ofsted rated Outstanding local authority where we embrace innovation and creativity?

If you are an experienced Social Worker (+5 years) looking for an exciting new challenge to develop your career and practice, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for!

Building on our successful transformation work to date, Hampshire children's social care is now focusing on implementing our new model of Family Help. Following on from the Independent Review of Children's Social Care and the paper, Stable Homes Built on Love, Hampshire has started taking steps to turn recommendations into practice.

Family Help in Hampshire involves the creation of 34 new Family Help teams, each supporting a small geographical area to enable close partnership working, with improved accessibility for families in their local community. The teams, made up of mixed practitioners will focus on providing families with the right support, from the right professional for the right amount of time.

As a Child Protection Lead Practitioner based within one of these local Family Help teams, you will hold complex Child Protection cases whilst supporting colleagues, advising and assisting on safeguarding issues to ensure the most appropriate action is taken to protect children. You will have a role in supporting the wider teams development, whilst assisting the Team Manager/ Assistant Team Manager's decision making, by providing recommendations based on your expertise. You will chair meetings and therefore, will need to be competent and confident at engaging with external partners and stakeholders.

Underpinning our practice is the Hampshire Approach. This is a strength based, practice framework woven in to all that we do; from our meetings, conversations, and supervision to the policies, practices and forms we use every day. This approach is enhanced by knowledge, skills, technology, and ongoing learning and development to enable us to work in this way.

If you think you've got what it takes and would like to come on this exciting journey with us, we want to hear from you!
