We are recruiting for a Children’s Residential Team Leader close to the Kendal area of Cumbria on behalf of an inspirational children’s provider in the local area. This is a permanent job vacancy.
This job would suit any candidate living close to Kendal. Just off the A6, A66, A590, A591 or M6. This job vacancy is easily accessible from Ulverston, Granger-over-Sands, Milnthorpe, Barrow-In-Furness, Dalton in Furness, Newby Bridge, Penrith or Carlisle or surrounding areas.
£28’400 - £30K per annum DOE + benefits.
£3120 per annum for sleeps - 1 x sleep per week.
Full-time hours (rota will be discussed in interview).
The Children’s Home
This a unique opportunity to work for a children’s home, with an excellent success rate. As their Team Leader you will help turn around the lives of children who have suffered abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, or extreme trauma in a therapeutic manner. This Residential Home is home to 12 children, rated Good by OFSTED, all the children are under the age of 12 and will need support for usually up to 2/2.5 years until they are ready to move back with their families or foster parents.
Our client has over 20 years-experience and an exceptional proven track record in providing therapeutic residential care and allowing the children to grow emotionally and socially. They provide excellent education on site to help them with everyday life skills. They also organise fun activities such as trips out and sports to help them integrate in the community and keep them smiling. No child should be excluded, so they have created a warm and safe environment where all the children can feel a sense of belonging and be valued for who they are.
Duties
To lead a residential care team who ensure a homely and supportive environment.
To ensure our children are always safe, including any risk from harm, including exploitation, neglect, abuse, self-harm, bullying or radicalisation.
To organise and participate in activities with the children.
To actively promote a positive culture and cascade the values and mission of the company.
To assess, plan and review a child’s progress to ensure successful outcomes.
To cascade an energy and positive outlook to the children we look after.
To adopt a positive parenting model which inspires children.
To have a good understanding of legislation and guidance that applies to children’s homes.
Knowledge of the children’s homes inspection framework.
Criteria
Experience of Supervising a Team of Residential Support Workers.
Level 3 Children & Young People Workforce or equivalent.
Experience of working in a Children’s residential setting.
Good knowledge of Child Safeguarding policies and procedures.
A full driving licence.
