Childrens Social Worker - Assessment and Intervention

Rate: £37 umbrella

A Childrens Social Worker is required for the Assessment and Intervention team in Oldham.
Duties include:
- As a Social Worker on the duty and assessment team, you will contribute to the team duty service on a five- week rolling duty system
- You will need to effectively manage a caseload; with varying degrees of complexity dependent upon skills and length of experience and we will provide regular supervision, guidance and support.
- You will work in conjunction with partner agencies to deliver effective planning for children and families to ensure positive outcomes for children in Oldham. This will include representing the Council at a range of meetings, proceedings and reviews as required.
Experience Required:
- You will need to have post qualifying experience in Duty and Assessment within a statutory safeguarding setting.
- You will have knowledge and experience of Safeguarding and of legislation, regulations and guidance relating to Children’s social care together with an ability to assess and manage risk.

- Social Work England registration
- Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
- Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
- Previous Duty and Assessment Experience
- Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
- Possess knowledge of service needs.
- Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
- Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
- Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
