Exciting Opportunity for Children Support Worker in North Birmingham!
Do you want to make a difference in children's lives? Join our client team as a Children Support Worker. You'll work closely with families affected by domestic abuse, providing personalised support, organising activities, and promoting well-being.
Role info:
Working hours: 35 Hours week
Flexible working – could be some evening and weekend work
Pay rate: £14.01 p/hr including holiday pay
Contract length: ASAP until at least end of Nov 2024
Must have childcare qualifications such as BTEC/ NNEB/ NVQ etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to children and families in refuge accommodation
- Facilitate decision-making and promote independence
- Deliver engaging workshops and group sessions - The children range from birth to 17 years and would like them to work alongside our other children worker with: Play sessions, Homework club, Attending holiday club, Planning half term and delivering sessions
- Ensure the well-being and safety of service users at all times
- Be able to communicate effectively with victims of abuse over the phone and face to face - To cover the office and be the face of the service. Communicate with external agencies, service users and victors.
- Be able to use IT packages
- Able to lead, chair organise meetings and type minutes to meetings
