Children's Referrals Officer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Children’s Referral Officer at Tameside Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Tameside Council are looking for a Children’s Referral Officer to working within a busy children's placement team and assisting the placement officers with the daily operational work.

What are your responsibilities?

• The role will involve active uses of Excel spreadsheets and telephone work with providers as well as back-office support.
• Tracking FOI requests and gathering information to fulfil the requests.
• Tracking of placement offers and following through with requests and liaising with placement officers and team manager and keeping them up to date with all the incoming information. 
• Extensive data entry and being very precise.
• There will be a lot of emails to send and respond to and speaking to people on the phone regarding Children/families.

What skills do you Need?

• Must have previous Children’s Referral Officer / Personal Assistant experience.
• Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, and other members of staff including managers.
• Strong IT Skills, as you will be using Microsoft office 365, as well as internal council IT Systems
• Valid Standard / Enhanced DBS on the update Service would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Liquid Logic LCS and advantage. 
• Excellent Telephone Manner
• Hybrid working may be available in the future
