Children's Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dynamic individual with PASSION and ENTHUSIASM to serve as a Children's Residential Support Worker, dedicated to supporting young people aged 8-18 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
**Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full UK manual driver's licence**
We are in search of someone DEDICATED, COMMITTED and skilled in engaging, and encouraging to make a difference in the lives of young people, promoting their social, emotional and behavioural development in a safe and caring environment.
Salary: £27,386 - £30,393 (sleep allowance included)
Location: Cromer, Norfolk (NR27 Postcode)
Hours: Full-time average of 40 hours per week.
Contract: Permanent
Shift pattern: 15-hour shifts with sleep-ins / weekends

Responsibilities:

• To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
• To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
• To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
• Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
• Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
• Maintain a safe environment for young people.
• Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
• Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker, or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
• Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
• You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
• You must be over the age of 21.
• You must be able to commute to Cromer, Norfolk
