What will you do?
You will build positive relationship with the young people and have a understanding of their needs. Actively being a good role model to the young people by showing compassion, kindness and having excellent communication skills. Having willingness to adapt, learn and take guidance.
Responsibilities;
- To provide care and support for the young people.
- Build positive relationships with firm boundaries.
- Support with building confidence and self esteem to meet the young people’s needs.
- Safeguard children at all times.
- Participating in activities that help develop young people’s life skills.
- To provide for young people’s needs as necessary, e.g cooking, washing, shopping.
- Manage wellbeing and behaviour of young people, ensuring behaviours are addressed.
- Be assigned a key child and play a fundamental role in their day-to-day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies and advocating their needs.
- Act in a professional manner at all times and develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, social workers, and other working professionals.
- To report immediately to the Team Leader, Deputy Manager or Manager or on-call any issues regarding Child Protection or Safeguarding.
- Maintain Confidentiality
- To undertake any other duties that have been reasonably allocated.
- To adhere with all policies and procedures.
- Maintain and up to date knowledge of care plans, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
About you:
You will need a full UK manual driving licence. You will either already have or be willing to undertake a QCF Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent
We are looking for someone who is caring, committed, friendly and mature in outlook.
You will need to be able to work well under pressure and adapt to quickly changing circumstances.
You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the resilience to manage challenging behaviour.

Pay rate: salary of £29,472* - £30,450* per year (£12.00- £12.50 per hour) inclusive of sleep allowance.
*salary dependant on qualifications.
Expected hours: 37.5 hours per week.
