Are you a passionate Social Worker looking for a new role where you can make a significant impact in the lives of individuals? We have an exciting opportunity for an Assessment and Intervention Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Colchester.
About Assessment and Intervention:
These teams act as the gateway for accessing Children and Families services, serving as a crucial link for children, young people, parents/carers, and other agencies. They conduct assessments and provide short-term interventions for families with children aged from pre-birth to 18 years old.
Their main focus is on children in need (CIN) and their families, offering three months of intervention. They also handle S47 child protection inquiries and collaborate with the police and other partners to assess immediate risks for children who come to our attention. If families require longer-term intervention or if the children require a child protection plan or become the responsibility of the local authority, the cases are typically transferred to Family Support and Protection Teams. Alternatively, if after an assessment and brief intervention the family does not require social work services, they may be referred to Family Solutions as part of our Early Help Offer.
As a Social Worker, you will manage a specific caseload and work collaboratively with children, young people, and families/carers to facilitate positive changes and improved outcomes. This involves conducting inquiries, assessments, purposeful interventions through direct engagement, and reviewing cases related to Child Protection, Child in Need, and Children Looked After. Ultimately, your goal is to achieve permanency through appropriate care for Children in Care.
