Assessment and Intervention (A&I) Teams: Your Gateway to Impactful Social Work

As a Social Worker in our Assessment and Intervention teams, you'll play a crucial role as the gateway for children, young people, parents/carers, and other agencies to access our comprehensive services. From managing incoming assessments to short-term interventions, your focus will be on children in need (CIN) and their families. Engage in S47 child protection inquiries, collaborating with partners like the police, and seamlessly transfer cases to Family Support and Protection Teams when longer-term intervention is necessary.

Your Role: Empowering Positive Change

Social Workers in this role manage a defined caseload, working closely with children, young people, and families/carers to bring about positive change and improved outcomes. Conduct assessments, purposeful interventions, and reviews related to Child Protection, Child in Need, and Children Looked After. Be part of a team that truly makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Requirements for Excellence: Your Path to Success

To excel in this role, candidates should hold a diploma or degree in social work, be registered with Social Work England, and demonstrate practice aligned with current professional standards. A solid understanding of social work knowledge, emotional intelligence, and analytical skills is essential.

The role requires you to be mobile throughout a wider operational area including travelling around the county of Essex and beyond, transporting service users and their belongings and to be able to do so in an emergency.

Driving licence and car or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means is essential.
