The Mission to Seafarers (MtS) has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Church and Volunteer Engagement Manager. This is a new role which will focus on helping deliver two key elements of our regional strategy as we look to communicate our biblical and spiritual vision for MtS to a new and wider audience. Firstly, we aim to expand upon our already strong foundation of UK church relationships through maintaining existing, and identifying and fostering new, partnerships; and secondly, we are focused on diversifying and growing our team of committed volunteers.

This post is open to Christians of all denominations who possess a strong faith. Candidates should have empathy with The Mission to Seafarers’ Anglican roots and be willing to work closely with Anglican churches.

As well as an understanding of Christian-based organisations, prospective applicants should have a track record of engaging with Church and community audiences and experience in recruiting and managing volunteers. In addition, candidates should be collaborative and inclusive as well as able to work autonomously; have excellent interpersonal skills; be innovative in their thinking; have a strong work ethic; be flexible in their approach; and demonstrate sound judgement, operating at all times with integrity.

Applicants must already have the right to live and work in the UK.

For full details on the role, and how to apply, please see the attached Job Pack.

The Diocese of London is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME), women, and disabled people are currently under-represented among our clergy and workforce, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.
