Civil Cad Technician

Our client has an excellent opportunity for a Civils CAD Technician to join their talented team of professional engineers and technicians based in Billericay. You will be reporting to the project manager and will be expected to provide support in the development of designs using Civil 3D/AutoCAD.

Candidate responsibilities include:

• With instruction and support from Engineers and Senior Technicians, prepare Civil Engineering drawings and details on a range of Civil Infrastructure schemes at various stages from preliminary through to tender and construction providing sufficient information in the form of general arrangement plans, sections and details, accurately set out to enable the construction of the proposed works.
• Taking instructions in various forms from Engineers in relation to production and development on design drawings packages.
• Keeping projects updated and organised to CAD Standards.
• Collaborate with the wider project team and other engineering disciplines.
• Regularly communicate with the Project Manager / Owner on progress of works.
• Co-ordinate information with the relevant third party (i.e architects, mechanical engineers, surveyors, members of the design team including utilities companies).
• Check third party information received for changes, variations and inaccuracies.
• Consider the buildability of the project and raise queries with the Project Manager / Owner.
• Issuing of drawings with an issue sheet to the client and design team, ensuring that current as issued drawing are correctly catalogued with record copies filed on Deltek / DLM.
• Manage incoming information either electronically or manually.
• Reviewing and self-checking of own work before presenting to others.
• Attend meetings and site visits on occasions when necessary.
• Ensure the technical content and quality of all outputs are in line with the project brief, design regulations and standards.
• Internal and external liaison with regulators and key stakeholders.
• To carry out other duties that maybe reasonably expected.
• Production of 3D design models using industry standard modelling applications using Autodesk (Civil 3D, Infraworks etc).
