The Parking Services team at Sheffield City Council are responsible for enforcing parking regulations throughout Sheffield. These regulations include off street car parks, residents parking schemes, on street pay & display, waiting and loading restrictions. We are a growing service and have achieved a great deal, but we need talented and dedicated people to ensure we continue to make a difference for Sheffield.

We have exciting opportunities for motivated and hardworking individuals to join us as Civil Enforcement Officers (CEO). As a valuable part of our CEO team, you will enforce parking restrictions to ensure the free flow of traffic and correct use of parking spaces. Represent the council in assisting customers and members of the public and ensure the service is delivered in an effective, efficient, and courteous manner.
You will also assist with road safety and environmental matters.
Full induction and training will be provided, along with full uniform.
We have 2 full time positions:
1 x evening team working (3pm to 11pm)
1x daytime team working
What we need from you
- You will be a good listener, communicator, able to assimilate information and remain impartial.
- You will be able to store knowledge with the ability to adapt and react quickly to situations in a professional way.
- You will have experience of dealing with confrontational situations and providing high level public service with a self- driven nature.
- You will need to be fit as the work requires patrolling outside on foot in all weather conditions.
- You will need to have a flexible approach to work and able to cover shift patterns which are currently on a fixed rota pattern and work 5 days out of 7 including weekends. Weekend working attracts a pay enhancement on top of the starting salary.
- You will need to hold a full driving licence.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
All successful candidates will be required to complete a Standard DBS check.
