Purpose of the Job:
Main contact for all day-to-day purchasing duties / buying queries in accordance with company requirements and Standard Operating Procedures. Work closely with other departments with a focus on improving customer satisfaction and quality performance. To support the business on specific projects and the delivery of value creation throughout the business to achieve improved customer satisfaction and quality performance.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Raise purchase orders to product or service specifications and proactively track order progress.
Plan workload to ensure all order requests are processed within set time scales.
Track order progress and assist in overdue report handling.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as internal departments, contractors and suppliers
Liaise regularly with suppliers, haulage companies and internal customers to keep urgent request and projects on time
Compare prices, specifications and lead times in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
Monitor reorder levels to maintain optimum stock holding
Maintain an accurate database (purchase prices, lead times, vendor information, etc.) at all times
Review supplier quotes, order acknowledgements and invoices to ensure that PO’s updated accordingly
Investigate and resolve relevant supplier/general buying queries and assist with the Plasser URCT procedure
Create and maintain internal part numbers and update vendor information
Assist with updating internal supplier rating system and performance management
To undertake any other task/ duties, from time to time as required by the business commensurate with the salary of the post.
