We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to join our engineering design team on a diverse range of projects encompassing new build, refurbishment and historic building conservation projects.

We are looking for an individual who is confident and pro-active, with a hands-on approach and an interest in technology and innovation, who can work closely with others in a multidisciplinary design team. You will work with our team on the delivery of engineering projects throughout the Southwest.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare 3D models and 2D detail drawings from engineer’s sketches
  • Carry out general administration, including consents and approvals
  • Responsible for document management and the issuing of drawings
  • Manage procurement of site data, such as services searches and topographical surveys
  • Assist with on-site survey work


The successful Civil CAD Technician will be proficient in using Revit (required) Civil 3D (preferred) and AutoCAD (required), or alternatively, have experience using a similar 3D software.


Key Requirements:

  • Knowledge of highways, drainage, Concrete and steelwork detailing.
  • Understanding of Structural/civil drawings
  • Familiarity with British Standards/Codes of Practice
  • EngTech MICE (or working towards)
  • Strong written communication skills - able to annotate changes in the description of works
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time with multiple tasks and work to deadlines
