Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer – Predominantly Remote Working – 3 months + - up to £55 per hour Umbrella – Midlands
 
 
Position: Locum Civil Litigation Lawyer
Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority
Duration: 3 months +
Working Hours: Part-time (10-15 hours)
Working Arrangement: Predominantly remote working, office attendance is preferred once a week
Hourly Rate: Up to £55 per hour Umbrella 
 
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and will have a broad working understanding of Civil Litigation matters to deal with a varied caseload.
 
Duties may include:

• Civil proceedings taken by or against the Council and to represent the Local Authority in court or tribunal
• Claims brought against the Council ie housing disrepair
• Property litigation ie encroachment action, civil remedies available relating to property owned by the Council
• Available enforcement powers and responsibilities under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014
• General civil enforcement powers ie injunction, eviction 
• Appeals against Statutory Notices
