Claims Handler

Our client, a well-established company in Basildon is looking for an experienced Claims Handler to join their team on a permanent basis

Your duties will include: -

• Answering the telephone in a polite and professional manner.
• Dealing with the queries.
• Completing all associated postal work / correspondence and diary work in an accurate and timely manner with the overall aim of managing the claim effectively from start to settlement.
• Having a thorough understanding of policy wordings enabling sound and knowledgeable advice to be given to clients.
• Processing new insurance claims notifications.
• Collecting accurate information and documents to proceed with a claim.
• Recognise potentially fraudulent claims and understanding the process.
• To ensure compliance with local policies and procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations.
• To undertake training in line with agreed objectives and keep up to date with technical, legal and market developments.
• At different times, you may be required to work as either part of a team or independently using your own initiative.

You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail. Confident with MS Office packages, Gi and Acturis systems. Knowledge and experience in handling personal, Commercial, Property, Liability and Motor Fleet claims.

This is an office-based role working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

The salary for this position is £30,000 -35,000 dependant on experience.
