Class Teacher (Primary or Secondary)
The Woodlands School, previously known as The Walnuts School
Salary MPS/UPS + Plus 2 point SEN allowance
Start date: 1st September 2024

The positive impact you can have on a young person’s life is likely to be the reason you became an educator. At The Woodlands School, that impact will be greater than you could have imagined. If you share our ethos and values and believe ‘being unique should be celebrated’ and want to achieve the best possible outcomes for our pupils, then we are the school for you.
The Woodlands School is an all age (Reception to Year 14) special school for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder or Social Communication Difficulties with associated learning difficulties, currently operating across 2 Campuses in Milton Keynes, in September we will move onto a 3rd Campus in Gally Hill. Due to our expansion we are looking for outstanding teachers to join our team.
The department where the successful candidate will be based is flexible, we ask that you express your preference on the application form. Primary - Hertford Place, Secondary - Hazeley, High Complex Needs - Galley Hill.
Key to the role will be learning what engages each pupil, how they learn and how they are motivated, channelling these factors into how you teach each subject, so that every pupil gets the most out of every day. You will inspire your pupils to enjoy a range of subjects, bringing each lesson to life, engaging them in a love of learning.
We are looking for an outstanding teacher, who is dedicated to the welfare, safeguarding and achievement of every child; who wants to make a difference and knows the pathway that will allow pupils to do so.
If you have not worked in SEN before, but are enthusiastic and motivated to make the move, we will give you additional training and provide support. If you would like to join an enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking team then we look forward to receiving your application.
Visits to the school are encouraged. The Woodlands School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check. We are an equal opportunities employer.
