The School and Role
This Good SEND school, based in Morpeth, supports children and young people aged 2-19 and is looking to appoint a passionate Classroom Support Assistant to work in Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 on a full-time basis.
Working in this EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Classroom Support Assistant will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, Behaviour and Emotional Disorders, Physical Disabilities and Medical Conditions. This full time Classroom Support Assistant role is long term from January ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.
The school strive for outstanding teaching practice providing stretch and challenge whilst looking at each child holistically and personalising the learning to meet their needs. They provide pupils with a range of opportunities through curriculum strands including outdoor learning, therapeutic intervention, creative arts and enterprise. They create a sense of community and develop a confidence and enthusiasm for learning with an outlook on life that will help their young people to succeed in whatever they choose to do.
Requirements
The desired Classroom Support Assistant will have;
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
- A passion for the progress of all SEND pupils.
- An ability to work as part of a team.
