About the role
This ‘Outstanding’ SEND school, based in Choppington, supports children and young people aged 2-19 and is looking to appoint a passionate Classroom Support Assistantto work in Key Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4 on a full-time basis.
Working in this EYFS, Primary, Secondary and Post-16 SEND school as part of an established team, the desired Classroom Support Assistantwill be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism (ASC), Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Speech and Language Communication, Physical Disabilities, Sensory Regulation, Visual or Auditory Sensory Impairment or Social Emotional and Mental Health. This full time Classroom Support Assistantrole is long term from March ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.
You will assist the class teacher with supporting teaching and learning, leading small group and 1:1 interventions as well as assisting pupils with their individual needs including personal care. You will be responsible for behaviour management as well as supporting the progress of pupils, liaising with staff and parents and participating in weekly CPD sessions.
Hours for the role are Monday - Friday 8:30-4:00pm.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Classroom Support Assistant you will:
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
- A passion for the progress of all SEND pupils.
- An ability to work as part of a team.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
