Ocean Housing is currently recruiting for a Part time Cleaner for 16 hours per week (Mon & Tue)
(known internally as an Environmental Maintenance Operative)
Environmental Maintenance Operatives work either alone or as part of a team undertaking the duties on our housing estates and in residential properties, their responsibilities include:
- To ensure that the estate cleaning rota and specification is complied with in full
- To undertake the duties of an environmental maintenance operative including dusting, wiping, sweeping, vacuuming, washing, mopping, polishing of walls, floors, windows and doors within blocks of flats and, where instructed, individual properties
- To sweep external communal areas and remove weeds, rubbish and litter from paved areas and rubbish and litter from garden areas within blocks of flats and, where instructed, individual properties
- To undertake void property clearances, including all rooms, loft spaces, gardens, sheds etc, within the timescales set
- To check the operation of communal lighting and change bulbs as required, reporting any other failures, including broken fittings, defective lighting and door entry systems for further attention
- To carry out regular testing of fire alarms to communal areas.
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to NVQ Level 1 or equivalent.
- Educated to Functional skills level 1 or equivalent in Maths and English.
- Experience in providing excellent customer service and developing relationships
- Ability to transport oneself to various locations
