Cleaner/Laundry Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Cleaning and Laundry Assistant (9 am-3:30 pm), 5 days over 7

To provide high standards of cleanliness throughout the home. To ensure the supply of clean laundry throughout the home. To maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment for the residents to live in.

Main Responsibilities:

• Cleaning the home to an acceptably high standard of cleanliness and comfort. Follow cleaning schedules.
• To wash and distribute an adequate supply of laundered linen for the home.
• To use appropriate methods and correct materials to clean all surfaces and soft furnishings according to the requirements of the cleaning schedule and Health and Safety regulations.
• To follow Health and Safety procedures when dealing with the disposal of waste, and in cleaning and laundering throughout the home.
• Attending staff meetings and training sessions when required.
• Record any breakages or defects found in the Maintenance book.
• Be prepared to deputise for other members of the Housekeeping staff when required to do so.

8. To be fully conversant and act in compliance with the Home’s policies and procedures.

10. Ability to adapt to change and emergency situations.

7. Understanding of Health and Safety issues in the care home environment, including COSHH.

8. Conversant with the risk assessment process.

9. The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues and residents.

10. Ability to work alone as well as part of a team to promote harmonious working relationships.

11. Respond to cultural and individual differences, especially the changing needs of people with dementia.

Salary: £11.44 /hour
