Domestic/Laundry Assistant
At Black Swan Care Group, we are currently looking for a domestic assistant/ laundry assistant to work in one of our residential care facilities, Southwell Court on a part time, 30h/pw, permanent basis, £12.00 per hour.

Purpose of Position:
- To take joint responsibility with the Manager to ensure that the laundry requirements are undertaken to a high standard.
- To ensure that the laundry room is a safe environment for the residents and staff and conforms to the requirements as laid down under the Health and Safety at Work legislation. To maintain a high standard of laundry in accord with Environment Health requirements.
- Ensure all rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the building and assist residents who wish to participate in the cleaning of their bedrooms.
- Make sure domestic supplies are ordered and stock control records are kept and are up to date. Ensure all equipment used is well maintained and kept in good working order.
- Follow good hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the building as set down by the Health and Hygiene Authorities and ensure that the storage of all cleaning materials conform to the Home’s COSHH policy. (Ensure you maintain the Environmental Cleaning Schedule and checklist found in the Infection Control and Cleaning File.)
Principal Responsibilities:
- · In the first instance to advise the Manager of any malfunction of the laundry equipment.
- · To ensure that sufficient stocks of relevant consumable items are held and that the usage of same is efficient and not wasteful.
- · Ensure that the storage of all cleaning materials conform to the Home’s COSHH policy.
- · Ensure that you maintain the Environmental Cleaning Schedule and checklist found in the Infection Control and Cleaning File.
- · Aid the care staff when they are assisting those residents who wish to take an active part in the laundry of their personal clothing.
- · Read, understand and adhere to all company policies.
- · Such other duties as may be required.
