Chargehand – Commercial Cleaning

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Cleaning Supervisor / Chargehand to support our Commercial Cleaning client. This role is pivotal in maintaining high cleaning standards and providing operational support to the team. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience and a strong commitment to health and safety practices.

Day to Day of the role:

• Supervise and work alongside the commercial cleaning team to ensure all works meet the agreed standard.
• Conduct quality performance monitoring and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Assist with daily planning and allocation of staff, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain effective communication with the client and other customers regarding service delivery.
• Manage the use and maintenance of equipment and vehicles, reporting any faults to the Management Team.
• Perform monthly quality control audits, providing feedback and ensuring resolutions within set timeframes.
• Accurately complete all required site paperwork.
• Identify and contribute to the implementation of service improvements.
• Uphold Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality initiatives and practices.
• Deliver toolbox talks to staff, ensuring clear understanding and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Desirable qualifications in cleaning/management or relevant transferable skills/experience.
• BICSc Training/Qualification is a plus.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Requirements.
• Previous supervisory experience in organising staff coverage and managing return to work processes.
• Essential cleaning experience with a variety of equipment and materials.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and basic PC usage.
• Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team, delegate duties, and motivate staff.
• Proven organisational and timekeeping skills.
• Competence to carry out minor repairs is desirable.
