Responsibilities:
- Client Accounts Management: Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients spanning various industries. This involves meticulous management and preparation of their accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Taxation Expertise: Proficiently prepare company and individual tax returns, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of tax laws and regulations. Provide insightful advice to clients on tax matters to optimize their financial strategies.
- Bookkeeping Oversight: Conduct thorough reviews of bookkeeping records to maintain precision and integrity in financial data management.
- VAT Returns and Advisory Services: Manage VAT returns efficiently while offering strategic advice to clients where necessary to enhance their financial practices.
- Financial Administration: Handle billing, fee quotes, and renewals, while also monitoring debtors and work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure optimal financial performance.
- Client Interaction and Relationship Building: Engage directly with clients on a regular basis, cultivating strong, long-term relationships. Understand their unique business needs and objectives, and provide value-added services accordingly.
- Team Management and Leadership: Effectively manage the workflow of team members, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as needed. Foster a collaborative environment that celebrates team achievements and encourages professional development.
- Business Development: Proactively contribute to the growth and success of the firm by attracting new clients and identifying opportunities for expansion.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work seamlessly within the wider team, collaborating with colleagues to deliver exceptional service to clients. Offer supervision and guidance to junior team members to facilitate their growth and development.
Requirements:
- Practice Experience: Proven experience in a practice environment, ideally in a role such as Client Manager or Senior Accountant, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Client-Centric Approach: Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to confidently advise clients, building rapport and trust to foster long-term relationships.
- Leadership Skills: Showcase a track record of effective team leadership, demonstrating the ability to manage, develop, and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
- Communication Proficiency: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for interacting with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Display proficiency in all aspects of general accounting, including taxation, bookkeeping, and financial analysis. Familiarity with relevant accounting software is preferred.
- Qualifications: Either qualified by experience, or part qualified/qualified with ACA, ACCA, or AAT certifications, indicating a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices.
Salary:
£35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
