This post may be home or office-based. We are reviewing our office accommodation to determine best use, taking into account Service needs, staff preferences and their requirements.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

JobPurpose: The postholder(s) will undertake activities and projects that contribute towards the Council’s transition to Net Zero and a climate-ready organisation.

The Climate Change & Energy Team are leading on several workstreams to support the development and delivery of the Council's Net Zero Strategy and Action Plan.

We currently recruiting a Climate Change Coordinator to lead on the Adaptation workstream. The postholder will lead on undertaking a Council-wide Climate Risk and Opportunity Assessment and developing and implementing a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and focused team that plays a key role in supporting the Council’s pathway to Net Zero, undertaking a wide range of duties that will require a high level of skills and dedication to achieve high quality results.

Requirements

Evidence of higher education and ideally educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.

Evidence of a continuing commitment to personal development.

Knowledge of Climate Change science and issues.

Experience of working in a similar role which has delivered significant business improvement and change.
