Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. The successful candidate should be committed to the provision of high quality, patient centred care, have a flexible approach to service needs and a genuine interest in working with patients within our gynaecology service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient focused nurse to complete an accredited course in hysteroscopy. This will lead on to the successful candidate running nurse led clinics in hysteroscopy. There will also be an opportunity to develop skills within gynaecological scanning. Training is expected to be completed within 12-18 months.
Excellent leadership skills are essential to meet the requirement of this service and to take forward and deliver on audit and quality improvement projects. Engagement with patients, relatives, and the staff team is a vital part of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role, leading by example and promoting a supportive and compassionate, caring culture. As the CNS you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide person centred care. The successful candidate will be required to create a culture of continuous improvement where the patient is at the heart of the care delivered. The CNS will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills with strong leadership in managing change.
The post holder will be a registered Nurse on the NMC register, have evidence of continuing professional development and be educated to degree level or relevant experience. The post holder should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a women’s health environment. Recent experience of working within gynaecology services is essential.
You will be required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a 5 day service. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland.
