Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacist with an interest in mental health to join our Pharmacy Team at St Andrew's Healthcare, working at our Northampton site. Due to all wards having ePMA there is potential for some flexible working.

Career Level B (Equivalent to NHS Band 6/7)

Salary: £40,000 - £53,500 (including off site on call payments) dependent on experience

Location: Northampton

Permanent: Full Time or Part Time Flexible Options Considered

Our Clinical Pharmacists describe the department as 'service driven and patient orientated', 'A fantastic team' and 'extremely helpful and supportive'.

Do you want to be part of an organisation where you will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team working closely with colleagues in the Pharmacy Department and at ward level to deliver high quality, safe, patient focused and innovative pharmacy services?

You can achieve more at St Andrew's Healthcare

St Andrew's Healthcare is a charity providing specialist mental healthcare services. We work in partnership with a number of NHS, voluntary, educational and research organisations to deliver a range of specialist inpatient and community mental healthcare services, education and research that helps to improve the lives of people with complex mental health needs.

Our focus is transforming lives through ground breaking treatment and rehabilitation, with surpluses re-invested in our outstanding facilities. You'll find a welcoming, inclusive culture here, inspired by the shared values of our team. Everyone has their part to play in the amazing work we do - you'll have every opportunity to get what you want from your career.

Your role with us

As a Clinical Pharmacist you will be allocated designated divisions and wards where you will undertake clinical duties. Working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team you will support the optimal use of medicines to ensure our patients obtain the best possible outcomes from medication.

You will provide pharmacy support and advice at Division, Ward and Pharmacy level, supported by our Operational Team. You will review medication with the MDT and patients, attend MDT meetings, develop policies and guidelines, complete both national and local audits and be involved in the supervision and development of staff.

This role also involves supporting the Dispensary Operational Team with the supply of medication, taking part in the dispensary rota as Responsible Pharmacist and taking part in the out of hours off site on call rota (1 in 6).

We are committed to the development of staff and have a clear pathway for development which has been shown with the progress of our Clinical Pharmacists and technicians to senior roles.

Mental health experience is desirable but not essential as we offer training and development including the offer to complete the Aston University distance learning Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Psychiatric Therapeutics and Non-Medical Prescribing Training. You will also have opportunity to gain an independent prescribing qualification too.

As a department we support flexible working and there are opportunities to work from home where feasible and workload allows.

Rewards

We offer an excellent benefits package including: Pension; Sickness policy on par with the NHS; Free parking, Access to the Blue Light Card and Health Service Discounts schemes; 35 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing to 41 after 10 years' service plus option to buy or sell 5 days each year, Life cover; Car lease scheme; free use of onsite gym and swimming pool, Cycle to work scheme; Healthcare cash plan; Paid DBS application; Access to free vocational qualifications.
