Your role with us
As a Clinical Pharmacist you will be allocated designated divisions and wards where you will undertake clinical duties. Working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team you will support the optimal use of medicines to ensure our patients obtain the best possible outcomes from medication.
You will provide pharmacy support and advice at Division, Ward and Pharmacy level, supported by our Operational Team. You will review medication with the MDT and patients, attend MDT meetings, develop policies and guidelines, complete both national and local audits and be involved in the supervision and development of staff.
This role also involves supporting the Dispensary Operational Team with the supply of medication, taking part in the dispensary rota as Responsible Pharmacist and taking part in the out of hours off site on call rota (1 in 6).
We are committed to the development of staff and have a clear pathway for development which has been shown with the progress of our Clinical Pharmacists and technicians to senior roles.
Mental health experience is desirable but not essential as we offer training and development including the offer to complete the Aston University distance learning Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Psychiatric Therapeutics and Non-Medical Prescribing Training. You will also have opportunity to gain an independent prescribing qualification too.
As a department we support flexible working and there are opportunities to work from home where feasible and workload allows.
