The Role
A broad "hands on" accounting role, reporting to the Club Manager, you will be responsible for financial transactions and documentation and providing financial information, advice and support, specifically:
- Banking all monies on a daily basis and ensuring receipts are recorded within Sage
- Processing all transactions and Sales Ledger invoices, ensuring correct payments are made
- Reconciling all individual purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements
- Reconciling the club bank accounts on a weekly basis and at month end
- Filing invoices, statements, member receipts, bar takings, etc
- As part of a small team, responding to telephone, e-mail, website and face to face office enquiries
The Person
You will be an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper, a "hands on", team player, who enjoys delivering swift and accurate financial information and support within a busy small team environment.
You will have:
- Strong numerical skills
- Strong bookkeeping skills with some previous experience in a similar role
- Solid organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Computer literate with experience of accounting packages, ideally including Sage
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines, using a logical and methodical approach
- Possess relevant qualifications or specialist qualifications such as AAT
- Knowledge of Excel or other spreadsheets
