Role – CMM Inspector
Location – Wolverhampton
Salary - £40,000
Day Shift
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CMM Inspector to join an established engineering company. This market leading engineering business, operating in a wide range of industries including aerospace and defence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective support to the quality and manufacturing team, in the review and or continual improvement of new and existing CMM programs to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of product to meet customer demand.
Main responsibilities:
- Zeiss Calypso Inspection / Programming (Online/Offline)
- PCDMIS Inspection / Programming (Online/Offline)
- Use CAD models to produce CMM programs to drawing
- Verify CMM programs with supporting instructions & documentation
- Interpret engineering drawings
- Provide CMM Technical Support
- Strong first principle measurement techniques.
- AS9102 First Article Inspection familiarity
- Support Lean / Cost Reduction Activities
- Ensuring that all CMM programs conform to customers drawings and GD&T specifications
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- HNC/ HND (vocational, professional, or advanced) or equivalent in the field of Mechanical/Manufacturing/Aerospace Engineering.
- Proven inspection and programming background
- Experienced in the use of CMM's using Zeiss Calypso and PC-Dmis
- Able to interpret complex engineering drawings
- Organised, methodical and diligent
- Aerospace experience would be an advantage
- Must possess strong analytical abilities to drive Root Cause and Corrective Action to tackle difficult technical challenges
