Job Title:CNC Machinist

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum
Job Duties:- Operate and set up computer numerical control (CNC) machines to perform precision machining tasks
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations
- The mixture of parts for machining is varied and no two jobs are often the same. Materials machines range from Aluminium, plastics, copper and tool steels
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures
- Adjust machine settings to ensure proper dimensions, tolerances, and finishes of workpieces
- Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic machine malfunctions
- Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work area
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role
- Proficiency in operating and setting up CNC machines
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Attention to detail and precision in work
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in machining or engineering
Experience:Minimum of 3 years' experience as a CNC Machinist
Knowledge and Skills:- Must know Heidenhain 3 axis and 5 Axis CNC machining.
- Programming software is VISI/Vero Machining
- Must be experienced in offline programming-all of our work is done this way, complex multiple set up parts
- Knowledge of VISI CAD would be a great benefit
- Proficiency in operating CNC machines, including programming and setup
- Knowledge of machining techniques, tooling, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments
- Basic understanding of machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong attention to detail and precision in work
- Good problem-solving skills
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Additional certifications or advanced training in CNC machining
- Experience with specific CNC machine models or software
The CNC Machinist will primarily work in a manufacturing and production environment. The role may involve standing for extended periods, operating machinery, and working with various materials. The individual may be required to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to safety regulations. The work environment may include noise and exposure to dust or fumes.
