Job description
Our Northamptonshire based client is looking for a CNC Miller/Setter/Operator to join them on a permanent basis.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
With proven experience in a CNC Machine Shop environment, setting/operating CNC 5-axis machines with Siemens Celos 840D/Heidenhain/ Fanuc controls.
You will be working in a small team to deliver high quality components to tight schedules, with a right first-time philosophy.
You will produce precision components from 3D computer models and paper drawings.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
• Create, load, examine and modify CNC programmes.
• Identify and report drawing errors and suggest improvements.
• Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within capability as required by the Line Manager.
• Compliance with all departmental H&S requirements
• Compliance, where appropriate with management, & environmental, systems, such as ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
• To play an active role in achieving departmental objectives such as cost reduction targets year on year, a reduction of external suppliers and an increase of in-house capabilities.
Experience
• Fully skilled 5-axis machinist with experience of working primarily with Siemens and Heidenhein controls, but Fanuc experience would be beneficial.
• Experience in programming on Openmind hyperMILL would be advantageous.
• Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment.
• You must have sound technical knowledge of the machine shop and its workings.
• An excellent team player, ability to multi-task with a strong awareness of health & safety considerations within a machine shop environment.
• Applicants should have a good general standard of education, with excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience of working in motorsport and aerospace an advantage.

Pension - Upon joining the Company, you will be automatically enrolled, with contributions starting after successful completion of the probationary period.
Leave entitlement - 25 days per year plus statutory holidays (compulsory shutdown of three days at Christmas)
Working hours - 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
