Part of a major international engineering group, this organisation is setting up a new division to design & build special purpose turnkey machines & equipment. To support this new operation an immediate appointment is required for an experienced CNC Programmer to become an integral member of their team.

My client is an advanced engineering company, designing, manufacturing and assembly precision components for special purpose machine tools, tooling and fixtures for the automotive industry. Having invested in new machinery including 5 axis CNC machine tools you will be responsible for producing small batch work with quantities between 1 &10 off.
Duties:
o Off line & On line programming 3 & 5 axis machining centres producing components accurately to drawing tolerances and specifications
o CNC milling and programming, setting and operating to prove out programes and tooling
o Detailing tool paths and set ups with shopfloor CAD/CAM software packages.
o Set up machine and select right tools for engineering changes to existing parts.
o Engineering change implementation for existing parts.
Experience:
Applications are sought from experienced CNC Programmers/ Setters who are keen to join a new start up division with a strong order book and the backing of a large international group. o Time served engineer with City & Guilds or BTEC Engineering qualifications
o Experience gained in a toolroom or precision machine shop environment would be ideal
o Extensive experience of programming, setting & operating 3 & 5 axis CNC machinery essential
o Good working knowledge of CNC / CAD-CAM software
o Able to create, load, examine and modify CNC programmes & select correct tooling/ fixtures
o Read complex engineering drawings and use inspection/ measuring equipment
o Sound problem-solving and a proven capability to work using your own initiative.
