Our client based in Basildon are recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer / CNC Setter.
The shifts are Monday to Thursday 07.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 07.30am to 1.45pm.
40 Hour working week.
Duties:
- Set and program the HURCO machines, proving out program files, operate controls, set offsets, edits to programs, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.
- Operating machines as and when required, prove out and handover to operators.
- Complete setting sheets and update programs to server
- Out of the box thinking, always willing to try different techniques in machining and work holding.
- Understanding drawings, manual check inspection requirements
- To measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining.
- Adjust offsets to keep parts in tolerance to achieve limits on drawings.
- To report all machine malfunctions to supervisors / managers.
- To operate lifting devices for movement of parts.
- To communicate with supervisor, quality and shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly and performing basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with the company quality program and procedures, company policies and safety and environmental regulations.
- To participate in cross functional process improvement teams and will actively participate in team production meetings
Ensure that safe working practices are followed.
Skills/qualifications:
- Understanding of ERP systems to raise purchase orders, check stock, run reporting.
- Basic knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
- Able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to perform basic math’s function.
- Experience in a similar manufacturing role is preferable.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and reliability.
- Proactive and innovative.
- To work effectively on your own and as part of a team, with a positive 'can-do’ attitude.
- The ability to prioritise workload.
- The ability to work well and accurately in a time-constrained and pressured environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess a current clean driving license.
