Our Client is a precision engineering firm with energy sector clients across the globe. As we expand into the clean energy market we have an exciting opportunity for skilled CNC programmer/setter/operators to join our growing team. Vacancies are available for two shift patterns, either 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, or and afternoon/evening shift, 10 hours a day, 4 days a week and we are recruiting for both millers and those with experience of operating twin spindle machines.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Programming, setting and operating a range of CNC machines, including multi-axis and sliding head
- Producing components to required tolerances and quality standards, right first time
- Finishing components to the highest quality standards
- Identifying and recommending programme amendments to improve efficiency and/or quality
- Making authorised amendments to CNC programmes to meet component design requirements
- Carrying out quality checks to ensure components meet the required quality standards
REQUIREMENTS
- The successful applicant must be a team player who can equally work on their own initiative, and meet the following criteria:
- Experienced CNC programmer, setter and operator, preferably with experience of operating 9-axis and/or sliding head machines
- Experience of programming FANUC controls will be beneficial
- Qualified through apprenticeship or HND
- Able to manufacture precision components from fully understanding engineering drawings in terms of tolerances, surface finish etc.
- Experience of CMM desirable
- Methodical and focused approach to work

- Able to work well under pressure
Salary: £14.50 to £19.50 Per Hour
Holidays: 25 Days Plus Bank Holidays
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Glossop, Derbyshire
