Salary SENIOR CNC TURNING MACHINE PROGRAMMER/SETTER/OPERATOR
(FIXED HEAD & SLIDING HEAD LATHES)
My client is looking for an experienced CNC Turning Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator to strengthen our turning section. This is permanent position starting immediately for the successful candidate.
Working Hours Are:
Monday to Thursday - 7:30am to 4:30pm; Friday - 7:30am to 12:30pm
Pay
Salary - £34,000 - £35,000
As an Experienced CNC Turning Machine Programmer/Setter/Operator leading the turning section at D&S Engineering, duties will include:
• Programming, setting, and operating machines
• Interpretation of drawings and 3D digital files
• Produce prototypes / small production runs
• Carry out inspection of your work (CMM and Manual)
• Maintain clean and tidy stations
• Produce work of a high standard by adhering to quality standards to ensure that product is produced to agreed specifications.
• Training Other members of the Turning section in programming and setting machines
• Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful teamwork.
Experience Required
• Leadership/Supervisory experience
• Relevant Engineering Qualification
• Ideally Apprentice Trained
• Time served / equivalent experience in a precision machining company
• Competent in Fanuc controls and programming
• Strong understanding of Fanuc programs with ability to edit, re-run tools etc.
• Able to move offsets
• Able to prove unproven programs, safely
• Competent in inspecting own work using CMMs and gauges to verify product quality
• Conversant with Lynx and Doosan machinery (Preferable)
• Conversant with STAR Sliding Head Lathe (Preferable)
• CAM experience (Preferable)
• Multi-axis and sub-spindle
• Working to tight tolerances
• Experience of working with a wide range of materials including, Inconel, titanium, mild steels, brass, aluminium-bronze, bronzes, aluminium, plastics, super duplex etc.
• Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
