Job description

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Collections Officer to join our vibrant Collections Team on a full time and permanent basis based at our Houghton Hall office, LU5.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in a customer facing environment dealing with debt collection, ideally in a housing environment or similar.
  • Experience and understanding of rent arrears, possession action including attending court and evictions.
  • Experience and understanding in welfare benefits, universal credit and housing benefit.
  • Be confident in using Microsoft packages.
  • Proven time management, negotiation, and prioritisation skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a target focused environment.
  • Full UK driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
  • GCSE Maths and English, Grade 4 or above or equivalent.

A bit about the role:

As a Collections Officer, you will be the first point of contact for effectively managing tenant arrears with a strong focus on income collection maximisation and customer relations.

Exhausting a set of agreed policies and procedures and through using data to ensure the delivery of a rent collection and arrears service which meets targets whilst helping customers to manage debt and sustain their tenancies.

Some of the key results for the role include:

  • Maximising cash collection, reducing rent arrears and preventing evictions and thereby sustaining tenancies.
  • Embodying Peabody’s values and demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Adapting to changing internal and external factors and legislation and maximising collaboration with the Financial Inclusion and support teams.

This role will require a minimum of 1 - 2 days a week in the Houghton Hall office however this role will be covering Edmonton, Potters Bar and surrounding areas.
