Commercial Account Manager : Transport & Logistics

We are privately owned, fast growing intermodal tank-container logistics company with its headquarters in Stokesley. We arrange bulk liquid transport on a global basis and our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We pride ourselves on exceptional levels of service and quality.

We are looking hard working and motivated people to join our ever expanding family of dedicated staff. Ideally, although not essentially, we are looking for people from the transport sector who understand its fast pace and demands.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful applicant will join a enthusiastic, vibrant and dynamic team working in an exciting but challenging industry.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customers with the high service levels and operational excellence the company currently portrays.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Handle customer order requests and provide accurate and timely information about services, lead times and costs.
• Keep customers informed of any impact or changes to their orders as soon as possible and in the case of delays, provide alternative options and costs with the communication.
• Ensure key events of the transports are communicated immediately such as load and delivery confirmations.
• Through the creation of an order, ensure all the required details are captured in the system and communicate key requirements to other internal departments to ensure all customer requests are met.
• Review of the jobs after completion, review, advise the customer and recharge all applicable additional costs

Essential Skills & Knowledge

• Excellent communication with both customers and colleagues and the ability to develop relationships both internally and externally.
• Competent in the use of I.T. system, outlook, excel etc.
• Good level of Mathematics/English

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

• Some geographical knowledge
• Previous roles in customer service
• Industry experience in logistics preferred but not essential
