Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit, because we’re not just home to one of the UK’s fastest-growing economies, we’re home to the most important conversations happening today. Through our mission-led approach, we’re making radical social change a reality so that nobody gets left behind.
Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
This is a new role, that will develop and lead Camden’s approach to business, Commercial and innovation district partners. You will be responsible for leading engagement with the private sector in Camden and elsewhere to build relationships and create new opportunities for private co-investment that supports Camden’s strategic ambitions. You will work closely with Camden’s senior officer and political leadership to foster a strong network of relationships across the local public and private sectors that contribute to our We Make Camden ambitions.
A key priority within this portfolio will be the Community Wealth Fund, a mission-driven social impact investment fund. This will invest in Camden organisations, businesses and people to drive value for residents and change the investment and funding market for the better. With an initial capitalisation of £30m and missions to deliver economic opportunity for young people and diversity in positions of power, the Fund is an ambitious and bold intervention in our economy that also places citizen involvement and decision-making at its core.
The Commercial & Business Partnerships Lead will be key to maximising the opportunity that the Community Wealth Fund represents. You will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and the Community Wealth Fund team to develop and manage relationships with commercial enterprises and innovation district partners with a view to securing private co-investment in the Community Wealth Fund.
You will lead the strategic approach to establishing and managing private sector and innovation district partnerships for Camden, ensuring that the local partnership architecture contributes to our We Make Camden ambitions. You will also lead operational relationship management, working closely with the Chief Executive’s Office and the Cabinet Office on a day-to-day basis. You will also provide strategic advice to political and senior leadership at the Council on partner engagement, collaboration, and co-investment.
