We are recruiting for a Commercial Cost Manager with a Public Sector client, who will play a crucial role in ensuring that our contracts and scheduled rates with suppliers deliver exceptional value for money. There is a focus on maintaining high-quality services while adhering to the PAS2035 standards. This is an extremely rare opportunity to make your mark in a brand new, in-house Retrofit team within Social Housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage contracts and scheduled rates with suppliers to optimize value for money.
- Ensure designs align with PAS2035 standards.
- Conduct cost-driven assessments, focusing on the efficient use of resources.
- Review contractor claims to verify accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Address issues related to building structures, roofing problems, and overall project quality.
- Undertake site visits to ensure project alignment with contractual terms.
- Act as a quantity auditor, emphasizing precision in contractor claims and additions.
- Collaborate with contractors to address any discrepancies or concerns.
Requirements:
- Background in housing and construction consultancy.
- Experience in a similar role, emphasizing quantity auditing over quantifying.
- Knowledge of PAS2035 standards and their application.
- Strong understanding of building structures and construction challenges.
- Proven ability to assess contractor claims for accuracy and adherence to contract terms.
- Willingness to conduct on-site visits, potentially spending full days with contractors.
Working Pattern:
- 2 days in the office, with flexibility for a hybrid working model.
- Regular site visits, potentially spending full days on-site with contractors.
