A global digital asset management business is currently looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join their Paris team.
Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs you will be involved in:
- Assisting in ensuring the Group's legal function is servicing the French elements of our business in the most effective manner to further the Group's overall aims and objectives.
- Providing hands-on, commercially focused legal advice, ensuring no areas of the business carry unnecessary reputational, regulatory or other legal risk and that the Group retains its leading-edge credentials.
- Providing advice on a wide range of French law governed commercial legal matters including digital assets, financial regulation, investments, prospectuses, shareholder agreements, Group structure, acquisitions and disposals, venture capital, funds, exchange traded products, trademarks, IP, real estate and data protection.
- Drafting contracts for new products/services and maintaining documentation for existing products model contracts with clients.
- Reviewing and advising on all types of contracts with customers, partners and suppliers (including the data confidentiality clause, with the help of the team's specialist advisors.
- Preparing and coordinating general meetings of French entities (preparing documents such as appointment letters, minutes, legal announcements, and carrying out related administrative and registry formalities) with the help of external support if necessary.
Ideally you will be a French qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE in corporate governance, commercial law and regulatory matters in a law firm or in house. Previous experience in house at an asset manager, investment bank or Fintech company an advantage.
Outstanding communication skills both orally and in writing and ability to influence persuasively is essential and you will also be fluent in both French and English.
