SalaryChase & Holland are excited to be working with a highly successful and growing manufacturer in South Yorkshire who are looking to recruit a Commercial Director with construction hire industry experience. This is an essential role to join their senior leadership team and build on the outstanding relationships with long standing clients to promote and expand the company’s commercial activity that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth. The business is looking to recruit a hands-on and experienced Commercial Director to take control of the clients and surrounding support teams to drive business performance and sales. The successful candidate will currently be at Commercial Director level or be working at Commercial Manager or Head of Commercial level and be ready to progress, experience must have been gained working with distributors with a strong upselling record. As the Commercial Director you will have an entrepreneurial mindset with great leadership skills.

- Developing accurate project bids with the help of other departments
- Agreeing to timescales, costs and resources for a project
- Creating plans for each stage of a project
- Negotiating with suppliers and contractors
- Constantly monitoring progress, quality and costs
- Reporting regularly to executives about project progress
- Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
- Keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to upper management
- Proven experience as Commercial Director or other relevant role
- Experience within construction hire industry would be advantageous
- Must have experience selling and dealing with distributors
- Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- BSc/BA in business administration, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
