An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join as a Commercial Events Coordinator at Flixton House. This is a full time (36.25 hours per week) temporary post for 12 months and it will involve working some evenings and weekends.
Flixton House has been a popular wedding and events venue in Trafford for many years. The venue is now owned and managed by Trafford Council. The venue offers the ability to host various events; weddings, parties and meetings and can accommodate up to 140 people.
About you
You will be someone who has experience of planning and managing events and are able to work under pressure but still maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You will have excellent organisational and planning skills and have experience of money transactions including invoicing, cashing up and banking.
As Commercial Events Coordinator you will be able to liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure the maintenance, cleaning, safety and security of Flixton House.
Key duties
As the Commercial Events Coordinator you will be supporting the Commercial Events Manager in promoting, arranging and managing events at Flixton House.
You will act as the first point of contact for potential customers wishing to hire Flixton House and manage event bookings from the initial enquiry through to co-ordination on the day of the event.
When required you will manage the bar area including till management, stock management and health and safety and also coordinate the casual duty managers and bar staff.
About the Role
You will be involved working with external suppliers and staff, building relationships with clients through the planning process by maintaining regular contact by telephone, e-mail and in person leading up to their event and working hard to ensure the event runs smoothly.
During any event, you could be the point of contact for and liaise directly with clients to ensure any requirements are met and any issues dealt with appropriately. You will ensure all aspects of Flixton House’s licence are adhered to regarding events and sales of alcohol
You will meet with and coordinate venue caterers, stand designers, contractors and equipment hire, planning room layouts, follow up with guests post event, and gain constructive feedback, ensuring that all guest feedback is responded to.
You will also be a key holder for Flixton House with responsibility for opening and closing the venue and setting alarms.
Additional Information
Flexibility will be required to work outside core hours as Flixton House is available for hire in the evenings and/or weekends as well as hosting meetings during the working week.
