Commercial Lead

Our client has an opportunity for a Senior QS / Commercial Lead on a contract basis.
Outside IR35 Contract position based at Saltend
Candidates MUST be UK resident.
About the role:
The position will be based at Saltend and will be Turnaround & Maintenance style works to the plant.
The opportunity will be offered on an outside IR35 basis for Ltd company applicants.
The client would prefer a local candidate or at least within a daily commutable distance.
Remit and experience required:
Pre-event / Project Initiation:
Subcontractor selection, evaluation and award alongside TAR Manager
Change management process
•          Attend and lead Commercial meetings and client negotiations
•          Monthly payment applications
•          Invoices – verification and processing (inc. Sales)
•          Verification of third party Payment applications
•          Interrogation and review of cost ledgers
•          Weekly Daywork sheets
•          Develop KPI’s alongside customer (only after consultation with ASUK Senior Management)
•          Ensure all contract numbers are appropriately raised alongside TAR Manager.
•          Prepare registers to track third party costs, hired equipment, subcontracts etc.
•          Set up work breakdown structure and cost model to ensure costs are appropriately allocated        and monitor actuals against this model.
•          Prepare cost estimates for Project / TAR costs
•          Help produce monthly reports to monitor costs.
During Event / Project Execution:
•          Ensure all costs associated with TAR execution are captured within the cost model.
•          Provide detailed cost reports so that committed and forecast expenditure can be effectively controlled against budget. Using NAV system to extract costs for management, labour, third party – materials, hired equipment etc.
•          Provide analysis of variations from pre-event estimates.
•          Provide trend data on productivity factors
•          Manage the process by which emergent work costs are monitored and controlled
•          Monitor relevant cost information to enable a final cost report to be produced (including forecast KPI & pain/gain position if applicable)
•          CVR – report monthly position to Regional Commercial Manager
•          Issue final cost report
•          Record spend against budget costs (PPE, tooling, consumables etc.)
•          Record GMI (Gross Margin Improvement) and margin erosion (on rates, subcontracts etc.)
 Post Event / Post Project:
•          Monitor costs beyond the event to ensure all costs are correctly allocated.
•          Alongside customer agree final KPI performance & pain/gain position if applicable
•          Agree final account with client.
•          Produce final total cost report.
•          Produce a report of the effectiveness of the cost management process and opportunities for improvement.
