Commercial Manager

Location: Livingston, EH54 8SE.
Salary: Competitive, DOE.
Contract: Full time, permanent.

Commercial Manager - About the role:

Reporting into the Regional Sales & Commercial Manager you will support our Scotland business by providing both accurate and effective price and margin management in accordance with our pricing guidelines and margin management process. This position is a Senior Management role within our organisation and requires an exceptional individual who is able to drive commercial excellence in all areas of supply whilst building effective working relationships both internally and externally. Sales / Commercial

• Working closely with the Regional Sales and Commercial Manager and Finance function for defining, implementing, planning, improving and updating the Regional price guidelines to have the quickest and most efficient pricing process and ensure we achieve our regional margin and profitability objectives
• To support the external sales community through preparation and completion of our Tendor submissions
• To support the external sales community in the final commercial negotiations (cost model margin levels, price lists, tender templates, etc) with customers when requested
• To ensure our commercial pricing strategy is being adhered to and we recover the required the level of cost recovery in all areas of supply including pallets, stock holding, origination recharge and bought in items for resale to our customers
• To help and support the external sales technical department and production to deal with Business Improvement Projects e.g. margin improvement activity, margin analysis and resolution
• To further develop and implement a deck of KPIs measuring the success of our commercial strategies in all areas of supply
• To liaise with customer service to ensure correct pricing of orders including make to ship versus stock holding products
• To support Sales Leadership Team with ad hoc requested projects, analysis and reports
• To ensure our commercial agreements with customers are maintained at all times e.g. contract renewal trackers, price reviews and account plan objectives
• To manage trackers etc during price change programmes and ensure our FIOS categorisation is kept up to date
• To review pricing / margin levels by production route, work mix and customer end use / cluster to allow and develop market pricing levels accordingly
• To review margin levels by customer versus regional targets and develop improvement plans accordingly

Saica Sales System (SSS)

• Comply with communication and reporting procedures defined within the Commercial & Marketing organisation for securing a perfect alignment with all SPK stakeholders
• To implement / support in his/her daily business activity the SPK sales approach described in the SSS manual
• Use the business information systems of the company, to ensure maximum reliability of reporting for sound decision making

Skills Required:

• Be able to drive the required level of change in a business that has moved to a state-of-the-art production facility
• PC literate, with a complete understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous
• Ability to analyse excel and other report data in order to drive business improvement activities
• Experience working in a busy and fast paced moving environment and have drive and determination to succeed
• Able to organise and prioritise work load in order to meet tight deadlines and the ability to work under pressure
• Experience operating within a Commercial capacity and understanding of cost breakdowns/cost models in a production environment is desirable
• Excellent interpersonal skills including strong verbal and written communication
