We're looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Property team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You'll be responsible for managing the financial and commercial aspects of our Facilities Management (FM) operations, as well as handling multiple budgets effectively (i.e. challenging costs and influencing key partners to achieve the best possible outcome).
As a Commercial Manager at Co-op, we'll look to you to collaborate with multiple colleagues and external partners; making sure that our FM services are delivered within the right commercial terms. In this role you'll work in a hybrid way - splitting your time between home and the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).
What you'll do
- Lead the 3-year planning cycle and budgeting/forecasting processes on a cyclical basis
- Track and monitor spend for all capital and revenue streams, providing regular updates on financial performance to senior colleagues
- Collaborate with the Finance team to consolidate monthly performance insights
- Identify and explore opportunities for cost optimisation within FM operations, and develop strategies to maximise profitability
- Manage the invoicing process, providing approvals for lower level spend and approving invoices of up to £10,000
- Collaborate with teams such as Operations, Finance, and Procurement to align commercial strategies
- Be the primary point of contact for commercial discussions and help resolve any queries
- Be the line manager for three of our Commercial Analysts; supporting them in their development
This role would suit people who have
- Experience working in a similar Commercial Management role
- Strong financial awareness and experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strong IT skills, with the ability to use applications such as Microsoft Office, FM software, and financial management systems
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to provide actionable insights from complex data
- Good leadership skills and line management experience
- Good communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively

- An annual bonus (based on personal and business performance)
