Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join a brickworks contractor based in Enfield, London. The successful candidate will oversee commercial aspects, manage project costs, and ensure profitability while maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Lead the commercial aspects of Brickworks projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Cost Control: Manage project costs, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Contract Management: Administer contracts and agreements, assess variations, and negotiate terms with clients and suppliers.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including forecasting and budget analysis.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project delivery and financial performance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and health & safety guidelines.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Commercial Manager/Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, specifically in Brickworks projects.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost control, contract management, and financial reporting software/tools.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and across various stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
