About Us:
Help us improve and develop the Adult Social Care and Health services we provide.
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and businesses at the heart of everything we do, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Committed to acting with openness, honesty, compassion and humility, we aim to listen and understand in a way that is respectful, encourages involvement and meets the needs of all our communities.
The Role:
This is an opportunity to work on a commercial portfolio in a public sector context, where you will be involved in procurement and property management of the portfolio. You will be the initial point of contact for all Commercial Housing Revenue Account (HRA) issues that arise within Housing Management and will ensure we fulfil our duties as a landlord. This will include ensuring compliance by tenants under Health and Safety, negotiating with telecom carriers for the installation of the antenna, as well as managing the installation by third parties of fibre-optic cabling throughout the borough. You will also oversee the repair and maintenance of the structure of the buildings and resolve environmental issues. Looking ahead, you will support the Head of Asset Management to produce a commercial portfolio roadmap that maximises income.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
Equipped to handle a range of business tenancies and leases, you’re likely to have a background in commercial property management, along with an RICS accredited degree. Your knowledge will include a good understanding of leases and licences and a good grasp of environmental issues and health and safety compliance. Strong negotiation and influencing skills are important, as is a commitment to customer service. Highly organised with keen attention to detail, you’ll also be a creative problem-solver.
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays. We operate a hybrid working policy across the council meaning you can split your time between the office, site visits and working from home, dependent on business needs.
Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.
Application process
Please do not upload any documents, including CVs/Covering Letters or supporting statements, as these documents will not be reviewed and could result in your application not being shortlisted.
You should describe how you meet the person specification requirements for the position you are applying for in Section G of the application form.
