Hays are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis to support a niche SME manufacturer in West Bromwich to recruit a Commercial Manager. The company are part of a wider group and this is a newly created position to support the continued growth of the UK business.
Your new role
As Commercial Manager you will report into the UK General Operations Director and be responsible for driving all future sales activity and reviewing new contracts and business wins. This is a all round commercial role overseeing a small commercial team alongside working with finance and operations on bids, tenders and new business. The role is to continue to ensure that current contracts and pipeline pipelines are profitable and delivered on track alongside securing new commercial pipeline.
Key duties include:
* Manage the external sales team and achieve increased performance in all sales activities, using KPI measuring. Review of current WIP and pipeline.
* Analyse sales statistics to determine opportunities for business growth/budget setting & controls to measure progress
* Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the external commercial team, while maintaining focus on the company\'s strategic goals.
* Develops and/or maintains and improves business relations with all customers
* Collaborate closely with the Operations/Design & Engineering on developing new products and services
* Develop & introduce marketing tools to actively seek new business
* Resolving contractual and commercial problems both internal and external to the company
What you\'ll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have a background in either accountancy within a business partnering type role and understand WIP, revenue and sales analysis or come from an operational role within a sales and marketing background. This is a newly created role so the ideal candidate will be happy to work in a independent manner and define the role internally and externally. This is a customer focused role externally and with significant internal stakeholder engagement so requires someone with excellent communication and presentation skills. We are flexible on sector background but a working knowledge of manufacturing or engineering could be beneficial.
What you\'ll get in return
The role is offering a basic salary of unto £55000 plus car allowance and benefits. This is a exciting newly created role and suits someone who ultimately wants to move into a operational level role within a company.
