Commercial Procurement Specialist - Inside Ir35

Our client, a large public sector police authority, is looking for two Senior Commercial Procurement Specialists to provide expert advice and guidance on complex commercial matters on an initial 6 month contract. The role is based in Abingdon and is inside IR35, with a rate of up-to £700 per day to umbrella. The role is hybrid and requires 2-3 days per week on-site.
The successful candidate must already be, or be willing to be, vetted to Recruitment Vetting standard.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing commercial strategies for programmes of work, with a focus on intricate commercial methodologies. You will also take professional ownership of high-risk commercial undertakings and ensure compliance with procurement law and government requirements.
Essential skills:

• This is a senior management role that requires a professional qualification in purchasing and supply (MCIPS) and/or contract management (IACCM) or equivalent.
• Significant experience of leading challenging commercial projects in the public sector, negotiating and managing complex contracts in accordance with Government Policy.
• Strong understanding of Procurement Law.
• Experience of delivering effective commercial solutions to diverse customers. You will be able to work within a complex regulatory and political environment, and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and being able to present and simplify complex commercial issues is a pre-requisite.
• The ability to design and deliver relevant, modern commercial strategies, policy and procedures complaint with Government requirements.
