Coventry / Hybrid 

Salary up to circa £28,000 per annum depending on experience

We are working with an independent, Legal 500-listed law firm based in Coventry, who are seeking a Paralegal to support their busy Commercial Property team, on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role would suit a highly experienced Legal Secretary looking to move into a Paralegal role, or a Law Graduate with at least 12 months relevant experience within a Commercial Property role looking to develop their career. 

The role involves:

• Providing a high standard of support to the lawyers in the Commercial Property department and assisting them in delivering service excellence to all clients
• Liaising with clients and third party professionals
• Taking new client instructions
• Use of case management system
• Drafting/typing of correspondence and legal documents
• Drafting first drafts of legal documents such as leases, transfers, deeds and agreements
• Preparing the first draft of the report of title which may be freehold or leasehold
• Dealing with the progression of files
• Reviewing title and searches and raising enquires
• Preparing and submitting SDLT forms
• Preparing and submitting applications to the Land Registry
• Use of MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
• Liaising with existing and potential clients, and business contacts in a professional manner
• Accurately recording messages and managing diary appointments
• Handling department telephone calls and new enquiries
• Occasional audio typing as required
• Dealing with filing, storage and retrieval of client's files, title deeds and other documents 
• Developing the areas of work in which you are dealing, to establish appropriate connections with other professional and business contacts, and developing the client base of the firm 
• Actively supporting the firm in its internal development

Suitable candidates will have:

• Previous experience of supporting a Commercial Property department within a law firm
• Attention to detail
• Exceptional telephone manner & communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage time effectively
• Excellent organisational skills
• Previous experience of using a case management system

This is a full time, permanent, office-based position with hybrid working available a couple of days per week, working 9:00am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday with a 1 hour lunch break.
